Vimanmek Mansion

Vimanmek Mansion is an entirely manufactured from teak building in the center of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The building formerly served as a royal residence. It is with its 81 rooms worldwide as the largest existing teak building. The Vimanmek Throne Hall is located in the center of Bangkok behind the old building of the National Assembly in the district at the Dusit Ratchawithi Street. It is part of Phra Ratchawang Dusit, the "Dusit Palace. The Vimanmek Throne Hall is entirely surrounded by canals (khlongs). Clockwise from the south, these are the Khlong Ang Yok (Jadeteich), in the West Khlong Rang Ngoen (silver channel), the Khlong Khab Phaen Kachok (glasglatter channel) and the Khlong Rong May Hom (fragrance of wood-channel). Architectural history The Vimanmek Palace was in 1893 at the instigation of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) on the island of Ko Sichang in the province of Chonburi on the Gulf of Thailand as Phra Thinang Manthatrattanarot "built. The Queen’s Gallery Bangkok

The Queen's Gallery is a showcase for contemporary Thai art in the heart of Bangkok, based on a concept of the Queen to find a suitable venue for Thais to enjoy exhibitions of both Thai and foreign artists, including Thai national artists and other artists of renow. The gallery will serve as a platform for new and upcoming artists as well as to promote creative ideas and to develop the nation's talent in the field of painting and to foster pride among the Thai people. The gallery came into existence as a result of the role Her Majestry the Queen played in presiding over the awards ceremony for a painting contest - "Bua Luang Painting as the Prototype for Embroidery," for the Arts and Crafts Support Foundation which enjoys the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. The event itself took place on 15 June, 2001, and was hosted by Bangkok Bank, together with the Bangkok Bank Foundation, with Dr. Amnuay Weerawan, the Managing Director, as Chairperson. A great deal of credit goes to Mr. Chatri Sophonpanich, Chairperson of Bangkok Bank PCL, who, along with six other philanthropists, presented a total of seven million baht to be used at Her Majesty's discretion. Jim Thompson House

The National Museum, the largest in Southeast Asia, houses an impressive collection of artifacts and art objects from the Thai Bronze Age to the modern times. The whole complex consists of historic buildings in the Thai style, was here but until the time of King Chulalongkorn the Wang Na, Uparaja the palace, known as the Viceroy of Siam. The boat houses on Khlong Bangkok Noi, a branch of the National Museum immediately after the Pinklao Bridge, home to the royal barges (Royal barges). These elaborately carved and decorated boats will be used only for the royal barge procession. Jim Thompson´s House The National Gallery (National Gallery Museum) is located opposite the National Museum on Chao Fa Road. There, ancient and contemporary paintings of important Thai artists are exhibited. "Jim Thompson's Thai house" at the Khlong Saen Saeb Kasemsan in Soi 2, a cross-street of Thanon Rama I (Rama) I.
